Heavy upper eyelids are often caused by a combination of stretched, sagging eyelid skin, loss of fat around the eyes, over-action of the muscles around the eyes, and sun damage. Surgical and non-surgical treatments can effectively reduce heaviness and sagging around the eyes.
Surgery vs. Non-Surgical
Some upper eyelid concerns can be corrected without surgery, often with injections using Botox and/or fillers. If surgical upper eyelid sculpting is required, lasers and volume enhancement may be performed at the same time for a natural and long-lasting effect. Often, eyebrow position is considered at the same time as this contributes to the eyelid appearance.
